The National Association of Manufacturers’s (NAM) mission is to be the voice for all manufacturing in the United States. NAM is the largest manufacturing association in the United States, representing small and large manufacturers in every sector and in all 50 states.
NAM came to Rockway looking for help to bring their Rethink Summit to life. We helped NAM strategize, design, and build 21 exhibits for their private summit experience in Marco Island, FL in June 2022.
Client Needs + Design Elements
The team at NAM was looking for a new exhibit hall partner to help build out one of their largest annual events – Rethink, The Manufacturing Leadership Council Summit held at the JW Marriot Marco Island.
NAM wanted to position themselves as the thought leaders of the industry during the event, have the ability to showcase expertise and build relationships, provide attendees with the best thought leadership around Manufacturing 4.0 and offer the attendees an experience to remember.
Here’s how they wanted their audience to feel at the event:
- Leave the event saying ‘wow I learned something new here that I can take back to my company to advance our journey on the road to 4.0’.
- Leave the event feeling inspired.
- I came into contact with people/peers and that shared experience enhanced my learning.
- I met peers that are going through a similar transformation and their experience gave me insight to take back to my company.
- A sense of community with like-minded individuals.
NAM needed a partner to help them create this atmosphere and who would help them from start to finish on the expo hall, lounge area, and overall coordination with the venue.
The Rockway Exhibit Approach
Rockway knew it was important to create an experience that was updated and had ‘on trend’ designs. They needed an entire refresh on the booth layouts they offer their sponsors to exhibit with. These consisted of a mix of 5×10, 10×10, and 10×20 layouts and needed a cohesive look with them all, but didn’t want all the exhibits to be the same.
After strategizing sessions with the client and the Rockway team, Rockway presented 6 different booth layouts that NAM’s sponsors could choose from:

- These all ranged in looks and sizes, but had the same cohesive look.
- We offered backlit graphics, TVs for video looping, storage cabinets and seating. We wanted essential needs for the booths with elevated look.
- We offered (1) 10×20 lounge area, (1) private 10×10 meeting room, (2) 10×10 booth, and (1) 5×10 booth designs that the sponsors could choose from.
- We designed a 10×30 layout for the lounge area for NAM.
The show was a success and see what NAM said below:
