Kitchen and bath company, Kohler, approached Rockway Exhibits for assistance in creating a custom structure to display their selection of bathtubs and faucets at the NAHB International Builders’ Show in Orlando. This trade show is the single largest light construction show in the entire world, bringing in more than 600,000 attendees and presenters from more than 100 different countries, and Kohler wanted to stand out with intricate displays that mimicked how the products would look in a bathroom setting.
Kohler’s Exhibit Needs
Although Kohler is already an internationally recognized brand, the sheer size and scope of this industry trade show meant that their booth design would need to stand out amongst the other 1,600 exhibitors at the event. Not only did Kohler require a custom design, but they also needed the materials to be shipped to the event site and assembled.
Kohler also intended to use this booth design for the next two years, so we also knew it was important to come up with a design that would be functional and easy to re-use.
One of the most important aspects of this design was that it required eight different “mini environments” to be incorporated into each tub on display. It was vital to design a structure that could be easily broken down into numerous pieces for easy shipping and assembly.
The Rockway Exhibits Approach
We were able to accommodate Kohler’s unique needs by creating eight tile spaces, as well as a single platform for each tub to be prominently displayed. We also designed the structure in such a way that the tiles looked like they were professionally installed, while still being easy to disassemble. Furthermore, the design allows for the tiles to be swapped out so the entire display can be reconfigured, if desired, for future trade shows.
We also came up with a custom design that only takes two people to remove each tub. Specifically, the design allows one tile to be removed from each side of the platform and a hook-screw to be used for easy insertion and removal.
Overall, Kohler was extremely pleased with the work and attention to detail that went into this design. They even went as far as to say that, even though they worked with several vendors throughout the show, they never felt like they had to worry about the displays from Rockway Exhibits.
